[22a-W631-2] Atomic Level Analysis of Amino Acids by Scanning Atom Probe: Glutamine and Glutamic Acid
Keywords:amino acid,binding state,scanning atom probe
Utilizing the unique capability of the scanning atom probe we have mass analyzed various amino acids such as valine and methionine and studied the binding state of the atoms forming the molecules. In this study we have mass analyzed two amino acids with very similar structures, glutamine and glutamic acid. The only difference between two molecules is the amino group of glutamine and hydroxy group of glutamic acid. The groups may change the binding state of the molecules. The difference of mass spectra indicates the unique binding states between the atoms forming the molecules.
