[22p-H113-5] THz light emission from STM tip-sample gap irradiated by ps laser pulses

Light emission from STM tip-sample gap irradiated by ps laser pulses has been observed in the THz spectral range. The sample was Sb₂Te₃. The laser light source was mode-locked Ti:Sapphire laser (pulse width is less than 1.5 ps. The repetition rate is 80 MHz). THz light was detected by use of liq. He cooled bolometer. It was found that intensities of THz STM light emission increases following incident laser power. We will discuss physical origins of this laser power dependence of THz STM light emission.
