We found variable liquid transport velocity induced by controlling wetting behaviors with shift of microstructure arrangement patterns on surface tension-driven liquid transport devices composed of micro-plate pillars. This work investigates the mechanism of variable liquid transport velocity in terms of behaviors of contact line advancing on a microscopic scale. Also, we investigate independence of row structures in which micro-plate pillars are aligned.
