We have developed a new method for the determination of a Thomson coefficient, which can be used for obtaining an absolute Seebeck coefficient. In our previous work, we described our improved AC method in order to derive a Thomson coefficient of a thin wire from measurable quantities. For the AC method, a prior determination of thermal conductivity and sample geometry is not required, unlike ordinary methods. In this paper, we report the measured Thomson coefficients of Pt films by the AC method in order to extend the range of measuring objects other than a wire.
