[5p-PA3-10] Syntheses of Porphyrin Derivatives for Organic Solar Cells via TIPS-Mg-Porphyrin
Keywords:magnesium porphyrin, small molecule donor, low bandgap
Small molecular donors in organic solar cells (OSCs) have been focused in this decade and enhanced the power conversion efficiency (PCE) rapidly. Metalloporphyrin skeleton is one of the most famous small molecular donor framework because of this high stability, absorption coefficient, and modification. We previously succeeded to synthesize Mg-tetraethynyl porphyrin (Mg-TEP) derivatives with triisopropyl silyl (TIPS) unit and employed to the bulk- heterojunction (BHJ) OSCs. Magnesium metal center has some advantage, for example, to increase solubility by the coordinated solvent and long excited state life time among various metalloporphyrins. Mg-TEP-TIPS2-Ar2 were enough solubility to fabricate devices, but we assumed that bulky TIPS substitute inhibit to the porphyrins’ π-π interaction. In addition, TIPS substitute is well-known as the leaving group. On the basis of these knowledge, we designed and synthesized Mg-TEP-Ar2-Ph2 via Mg-TEP-TIPS2-Ph2 and fabricated devices.
