[5p-PB1-6] Study on high efficiency coupling integration of VCSEL and slow-light amplifier

Lacers are required for high output power high magnification quality for lacer processing used in manufacturing sites and optical sensors such as LiDAR. At present, it is desired to integrate with a light source from the viewpoint of miniaturization, etc. by achieving output of 260 mW with slow light semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) using external light source.VCSEL and SOA have the same layer structure but although lateral integration is possible, low photosynthetic efficiency is a problem. In this report, we proposed a new lateral integrated structure for improving optical coupling.
