Recently, a number of studies of electrocatalysts for water splitting and oxygen evolving reactions (OER) are ongoing. Especially, many researchers pay attention to the electrocatalysts composed of first transition metals instead of precious metals.
In this study, we performed the first principles calculations of β-FeOOH(Akaganeite) and discussed the its properties relating to the OER.
