[6a-A402-5] Characteristics of Tunable Wavelength Converters Employing Cascaded Second-Order Nonlinear Effect in Periodically Poled Lithium Niobate Waveguides

Keywords:periodically poled lithium niobate, quasi-phase matching, optical wavelength conversion

We experimentally investigate bandwidth limitation of tunable optical wavelength conversion from an arbitrary wavelength to another arbitrary one using the cascaded second-order nonlinear effect in periodically poled lithium niobate waveguide devices. Critical pulse width to be wavelength-converted is proportional to the device length, and its ratio is about 1.6ps/cm.
