[6a-A501-5] Application of Non-halogenated Solvent Additive to Bulk Heterojunction Organic Thin-Film Solar Cell

Keywords:Organic thin-film photovoltaic cell, Solvent Additive, Unmodified fullerene

The effect of non-halogenated processing additive 1,2-dimethylnaphthalene (DMN), which is reported to be effective for bulk heterojunction organic thin-film solar cell film with C70-PCBM coated from 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene, on the composite film with unmodified C70 is examined. It has been observed that DMN shows negligible effects on the photovoltaic performance. Therefore, not the C70 part but the side group in C70-PCBM seems to be critical to the positive effect of processing additives such as DMN.
