Discovery of Carbon nanotube led to huge research interest on tubular form of nanomaterials like WS2, Mos2 and BN nanotubes (NT). These nanotubes demonstrate interesting electrical, mechanical and thermal properties. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) offers unique advantage for studying nanotubes, identifying its layers, defects and morphology. Transferring nanotube from growth substrate to TEM mesh is not straightforward process. In this work we report simple yet highly vesatile method for synthesis of vertical WS2 nanotubes directly on Au TEM mesh by simple CVD technique getting rid of unintended impurities and hurdles during transfer.
