▲ [6a-PA3-18] Development of terahertz electric-field vector imaging system using a rotating polarizer
キーワード:terahertz, imaging, metamaterials
It is known that various kinds of interesting optical responses occur when light is irradiated on subwavelength structures. Metamaterials and photonic nanostructures are remarkable examples and it is possible to artificially control their dielectric constant and magnetic permeability. In recent years, studies of metamaterials in terahertz frequency region have been extensively studied for optical metamaterial research. Since the wavelength of terahertz wave is shorter than that of radio waves, we can collect the terahertz wave using optical elements as well as visible light. On the other hand, since the wavelength of terahertz wave is sufficiently longer than that of visible light, there is an advantage that it is easy to fabricate a microstructure sufficiently smaller than the wavelength. In this presentation, we introduce a high resolution electric-field vector imaging system of terahertz wave to investigate the characteristic optical response in such subwavelength microstructures.
