[6a-PA3-9] Guided Mode and Assist of Focusing of sub-THz Wave by Tapered Transmission Line

Shapes of electric force lines of the TEM mode in a transmission line made by perfect conductors are similar to those that appear in the transmission line when it is applied with a dc voltage. If this is practical also for tapered transmission lines, the guided radiation converges with the expanse independent of the frequency. We made a tapered transmission line that consists of two triangular metal plates and put it along the converging sub-THz beam. We observed that convergence of the sub-THz beam become tighter by putting the tapered transmission line. We will also consider the effect that the real metal plate shows finite conductivity.
