[6a-PA4-1] Requirement for Modulation Accuracy in IM/DD-QKD

We have studied intensity modulation and direct detection quantum key distribution (IM/DD-QKD). In which, slightly binary intensity-modulated pulses are sent from a transmitter, and a receiver creates key bits from the directly detected intensity. We previously evaluated the system performance of this scheme assuming an ideal transmitter. However, a practical transmitter has limited modulation accuracy. This study evaluates the dependence of the IM/DD-QKD system performance on the modulation accuracy.
