[6a-PB1-32] Magnetic alignment of RE123 powders with twin microstructures
Keywords:three-dimensional magnetic orientation, in-situ X-ray diffraction measurements, superconducting ceramics
REBa2Cu3Oy (RE123) is a superconducting ceramic which has a high critical temperature. RE123 is fabricated through tetragonal-orthorhombic transition leading to generation of twin structure in the (110) plane. Although it has a twin structure, RE 123 microcrystals can be aligned three-dimensionally. It is very important to study the kinetics of the orientation process in order to control the three-dimensional magnetic orientation of the RE 123 microcrystals. The orientation behavior of RE123 with orthorhombic system was investigated by in-situ X-ray diffraction measurements.
