Keywords:Nb3Sn, critical current density, upper critical field

It is well known that the small amount of Titanium (Ti) addition to the bronze significantly increases the growth rate of the Nb3Sn layer. Futhermore, this addition improves the critical current density Jc and the upper critical field Bc2 due to the.refinement of crystal grains and the reduction of coherence length. On the other hand, the addition of Tantalum (Ta), Gallium (Ga) and Hafnium (Hf) also improves Bc2, the addition of Magnesium (Mg) or Germanium (Ge) improves pin force density Fp, the addition of Hf increases the growth rate of the Nb3Sn layer. Therefore, in order to develop a new Nb3Sn material having further high characteristics, it is necessary to clarify what kind of element or combination is effective.
In this study, Bc2 and Jc characteristics were measured by adding elements Mg, Hf, Ge, Ga, and Ta to bronze for Nb3Sn, and the influence of the fourth element addition on these properties was investigated.
