[6p-A202-5] Control of electrons and ions using intense terahertz electric field

Ikufumi Katayama1 (1.Yokohama Ntnl. Univ.)

Keywords:terahertz, ionic conductor, scanning tunneling microscope

Development of ultrafast laser technology enables us to generate intense terahertz waves, which have been used to control ultrafast motion of ions and electrons in materials. In this presentation, we applied the intense terahertz waves to the ionic conductor and metal nano-gaps in the scanning tunneling microscope to demonstrate the motional control of ions and electrons in materials, respectively.
