△ [6p-A405-14] Nuclear quadrupolar effect on the formation of in-plane nuclear field in a single quantum dot
Keywords:quantum dot, nuclear field, nuclear quadrupolar effect
In a semiconductor quantum dot, a injected electron is strongly confined. As a result, the hyperfine interaction between electron and lattice nuclei is enhanced significantly, and a large nuclear spin polarization (NSP) can be generated. The understanding of the formation and relaxation mechanism of the NSP is crucial to realize a quantum memory and an generation of the entangled photon pair. In the current framework of the NSP formation, the NSP can be created only along the electron spin. However, the NSP was found to generate normal to the electron spin from the observation of anomalous Hanle curves. In this presentation, we aim to reveal the formation mechanism of the in-plane NSP, and talk about the model calculation of the anomalous Hanle curves including a nuclear quadrupolar effect.
