Keywords:Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, silver thin film, single crystal

Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is a powerful spectroscopy which can detect and identify single molecules using localized surface plasmon resonance and attracts attention in recent years as a technique for detecting molecules with high sensitivity. Gold nanoparticles have been traditionally used as an effective SERS substrate. However, if the silver thin film can be employed, the fabrication of the highly sensitive SERS substrates will be more simple and inexpensive. In this study, we fabricated single crystal silver thin film with voids and investigated SERS effect by surface plasmon polariton.
