[6p-PB6-8] New Method of Medical Diagnosis through the Stretching Response of Tissue Slice

The purpose of this study is to establish the method of diagnosis of pathological tissues through the application of external tension on tissue slices. Recently, we have reported the successful experimental results by adapting such methodology on cancer diagnosis. Here, we report the development of the method of tissue extension, by adapting the extensive force from the both sides of tissue slices. With this methodology, it becomes possible to observed the time-development of the cracking pattern dependent on the degree of extension. In addition, we propose several different methodologies on the quantitative analysis of the cracking pattern and the mechanism of the patterning in terms of the change of the cell-cell adhesion strength depending on the development of the diseases.
