[6p-S21-1] The International Linear Collider (ILC) Project and Its Scientific Significance

Hiroaki Aihara1 (1.Univ. of Tokyo)

Keywords:International Linear Collider, Elementary Particle Physics, Higgs Particle

The Standard Model of Elemmentary Particle Physics was established in the last century due to a synergy effect of experimental and theoritical intensive research activities. In 2012 the Higgs particle was discovered by the experiments at LHC of CERN in 2012. Precise measurements of the properties of the new Higgs particle will make a breakthrough of the particle physics to go beyond the Standard Model. The International Linear Collider (ILC) is an electron-positron colliding beam accelerator. ILC will produce lots of the Higgs particles at the optimal center-of-momentum energy of 250 GeV to elucidate the Particle Physics beyond the Standard Model.
