We have grown single crystalline Cu nanowires by high-temperature glancing angle deposition technique. By evaporation Fe and/or SiO2 on them, we have successfully obtained heterostructured nanowires (H-NWs) with clear interfaces. Due to difference in the thermal expansion coefficients, the H-NWs are deformed by photothermal heating with laser beam irradiation. Base on a theory for bimetals, the relationship between length and deformation has been investigated, and the temperature rising of H-NWs has been estimated at about 100 K.
