Silica whispering gallery mode microcavities allow us to observe third-order optical nonlinear effects such as four-wave mixing (FWM) and stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) with a low power continuous-wave input thanks to its high quality factor and small mode volume. In this work, we theoretically and experimentally demonstrated gain transition between FWM and SRS in silica toroid microcavity.
