[6p-S45-22] Ro-vibrational revival of a wave-packet in molecular hydrogen by three-color four-wave Raman mixing.

Using a three-color four-wave Raman mixing (FWRM) configuration, we investigated the dynamic of ro-vibrational evolution of the ultrafast optical wave-packet. The fundamental beam of an ultrafast (35 fs) Ti:Sapphire laser emitting at 800 nm was used as the pump source. By passing a portion of the fundamental beam through an optical parametric oscillator/amplifier, the Stokes beam was generated at 1200 nm. The frequency separation between the pump and Stokes beams was adjusted to match the vibration energy (n = 1) of a hydrogen molecule, i.e. 4166 cm-1. The coherence evolution of the excited wave-packet was probed by introducing the third harmonic of the fundamental beam (267 nm) via FWRM. The anti-Stokes and Stokes signals were investigated as a function of the time delay between the pumps and the probe pulses. The event of revival was observed at every 5.56 ps, which continued hundred picoseconds. The fractional revivals were examined based on the mechanism suggested from the theoretical predictions.
