We reported that a non-Hermitian topological insulating phase could be achieved only by gain and loss control in an originally gapless coupled resonator system. Here, we present theoretically the topological number of the considered system, its topological transition induced solely by gain and loss, and a topological interface state at the boundary between our controlled topologically nontrivial and trivial lattices.
