A NiOx layer is actively used as a hole extraction layer for inverted structure perovskite solar cells. However, clear guidelines on NiOx composition, and energy levels remain unclear. In the study, NiOx layers with various manufacturing temperatures are used to obtain design guidelines for inverted perovskite solar cells. As a result of the examination, it was found that two properties are necessary for NiOx layer in order to improve conversion efficiency. 1) Increase the particle size of NiOx. 2) Reduce the gap between valence band edge and Fermi level.
