In order to solve the problem of miniaturization of needle-like neuroprobe electrode, we have fabricated microscale electrode by VLS growth method. However, reduction of the electrode’s S/N ratio due to the parasitic capacitances of the device insulators was a problematic. Therefore, we propose a device which reduces the parasitic capacitances by a core-shell needle electrode. Furthermore, we have proposed neural electrode which enables voltage-to-current conversion by integrating transistor at the tip of the core-shell needle.
