[7a-A503-8] Analysis of Amino Acids with an Aromatic Ring by the Scanning Atom Probe
Keywords:amino acid, aromatic ring, scanning atom probe
It has been demonstrated that the atomic level analysis of amino acids such as glycine, methionine, leucine and peptides by the scanning atom probe is highly quantitative and qualitaive. However, these molecules do not contain an aromatic ring. Accordingly, tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylalanine were mass analyzed. Unexpectedly, no benzen and pyrrole rings were detected. However, a large number of ions with mass 29 were found, possibly HCNH2. The cause of the unusual mass spectra will be discussed.
