[7a-A504-5] Evaluation of Reflection Tolerance of Quantum Dot DFB Lasers Integrated on Si Substrate

We demonstrated high reflection tolerance of a quantum dot distributed feedback laser. We fabricated an integrated QD light source on a Si substrate, and evaluated the effect of near end reflection noise. We confirmed significant improvements of near end reflection tolerance compared to a quantum well DFB laser, and showed the possibility of isolator free operation for few-hundreds meter single mode transmission.
