CNT yarn with better electrical conductivity and tensile strength can be made of the CNTs with fewer walls and smaller tube diameter. It is because, the CNT yarn is made of finer CNTs that has high density. Here, we studied the relationship between CNT-growth-conditions and the number of CNT walls or tube diameter. Results of transmission electron microscopy observation showed that, the temperature at the initial growth of CNTs is one of the important parameter to control the number of CNT walls and tube diameter.
