[7a-PA2-11] Nonreciprocal electromagnetic response of a magneto-chiral metamaterial in the deep UV light region.

In a system with magnetism and chirality, the time and space inversion symmetries break simultaneously. An absorption coefficient of light in the system depends on the propagation direction of light. This effect is known as the magneto-chiral (MCh) effect. In the microwave region, a metamaterial with magnetic and chiral resonances strongly enhances the MCh effect. However, there is no study on the MCh effect enhanced by metamaterials in the optical region. In this presentation, we show a MCh effect enhanced by a metamaterial in the deep ultraviolet light region.
