Keywords:optical vortex, quantum Hall effect

The optical vortex (OV) which has a spiral wave front with the axial and radial components of electric fields carries an optical orbital angular momentum in the vortex, i.e., the OV is an electro- magnetic field with a chirality . We have studied the Magneto-optical Kerr effect in a GaAs quantum well in the quantum Hall regime under the OV irradiation to investigate the interaction between the OV and quantum Hall electron system. The topological charge (m) in the OV was selected by using hologram patterns projected in the spatial light modulator, and was focused on a Hall-bar sample made of GaAs quantum well at 1.5 K. The Magneto-optical Kerr spectra reveals the influence on the Skyrmion generation in the quantum Hall electrons by the OV irradiation.
