We have developed a Cr:CdSe laser capable of wavelength sweeping in the mid infrared range of 2.25 to 3.08 μm using a pulsed Tm:YAG laser as a pump source.
However, the infrared absorption of the water molecules may affect to laser output in this wavelength region.
Therefore, in this study, we measured the laser power in the atmosphere and low pressure (6.0 × 10-5 Torr) environment and investigated the influence of the absorption of water molecules in the laser resonator on the output laser power.
