n-Type organic semiconductors have been less reported and exhibited lower carrier mobilities than p-type counterparts. In this work, we demonstrate a benzo[c]thiophene diimide (BTDI) as a new n-type semiconducting core. BTDI and its derivatives are synthesized and investigated to reveal their fundamental properties, aggregated structures, and charge carrier mobility in field-effect transistors.
