Hydrogen (H) is deeply correlated to the degradation of silicon devices. To overcome these degradation problems, the substitution of H with deuterium (D) appears to be a powerful approach inspired by the giant isotope effects originally observed by Ph. Avouris et al. In this study, we report the substitution of D for H by using H terminated nanocrysalline Si with the help of light irradiation. This effect is confirmed by the appearance of IR spectrum peak around 500 cm-1 Si-D bending mode.
