[7p-S45-1] [INVITED] Control of Crystal Growth of Organic Compounds by Femtosecond Laser Ablation

I have been developing innovative methods for crystal growth control by femtosecond laser ablation. The methods are based on the mechanical disruption of crystals by femtosecond laser ablation, which leads to the unusual crystal growth behaviors via laser-induced dislocations and/or fragments. The methods enable us to make single crystals and large crystals of various organic compounds including proteins. In the presentation, I introduce the overview of the methods and their recent applications.
