Keywords:holography, quasicrystal, super resolution

We propose a novel approach for designing a computer-generated hologram, which consists of quasi-periodic patterns. As an example, we designed a hologram that generates a straight line image, and numerically confirmed that the image resolution was beyond the diffraction limit. While this hologram has a simple structure that has circular apertures on an opaque thin film, the high-resolution image can be generated without any additional optical system such as reduced projection systems. This characteristic provides more compact systems for photolithography and laser processing with various wavelength bands such as terahertz, infrared, visible, extreme ultraviolet, and X-rays.
