The perovskite solar cells have attracted much attention as a next generation solar cell because they have advantages such as flexible, low-cost fabrication and high efficiency. A power conversion efficiency (PCE) more than 20% has been reported by using perovskite as a light absorber. However, the charge states and the degradation mechanisms in perovskite solar cells have not yet been completely understood. In this study, we report on an electron spin resonance (ESR) study of perovskite solar cells to investigate the charge-accumulation states during device operation. We compared the ESR spectroscopy and the device performances to elucidate the degradation mechanisms of the devices from a microscopic viewpoint.
