Keywords:Alloy-micro-PD method

In recent years, our group has succeeded in growing pure Ir wire with diameter of 1.0 mm and length of more than 10 m by Alloy-μ-PD method (A-μ-PD method). The Ir wire grown by A-μ-PD method shows high flexibility because of its elongated corse crystal grains along the growth direction. This technology may realize flexible Ir/IrRh tharmalcouple. This study aim to make much thinner wire with diameter of about 0.5 mm which is comparable to the existing thermalcouples and to grow IrRh alloy wire by A-μ-PD method.
