△ [14p-316-3] Morphology of C60 and C70 multilayers on graphite

In order to understand how different molecular shapes of C₆₀ and C₇₀ affects the morphology of their films, we prepared ideal physicorption systems, C60/HOPG and C70/HOPG films under various deposition conditions. The film morphology were obseved by atomic force microscope. In particular, as a result, a new morphology was found out in the sample prepared under the conditions of high deposition rate. In this presentation, we give the morphological phase diagram of C₇₀/HOPG and discuss the influence of C₆₀ and C₇₀ molecules on the film morphology.
