[14p-412-16] Measurement of Heavy Ion Induced Transient Current in Diamond and the Polarization Effect
Keywords:Single Crystal Thin Diamond, Radiation Detector, Ion Induced Transient Current
Single crystal diamond, which is expected to be utilized as a material of next generation radiation detector, is irradiated with swift heavy ions and the ion-induced transient currents (TRIBIC signals) are investigated. Both the TRIBIC signal amplitude and the collected charge are reduced by the subsequent ion hits and the charge collection time is extended. This phenomenon is thought to be caused by “the polarization effect”. Analysis based on the Shockley-Ramo theorem explains well the obtained results.
