[14p-413-12] Evanescent-Wave Driven Rotation of Plasmonic Nano-propeller

It is about 100 years after Beth's experiment demonstrating mechanical rotation by circularly polarized light. Heated filament was then used as a light source, so light-induced torque was too small. It was difficult to measure. After several decades, laser invention pioneered and has advanced optical manipulation. Here, we discuss evanescent-wave optical torque on plasmonic nano-propeller.
