[14p-512-8] Electrochemical water oxidation catalyzed by CoO nanoparticles prepared by laser ablation in liquid

In this presentation, we show the application of CoO nanoparticle prepared by femtosecond laser ablation. CoO target powder was synthesized by the decomposition of Co3O4 powder in Ar atmosphere. CoO nanoparticles was produced by femtosecond laser ablation of CoO powder in water. Colloidal CoO nanoparticle was deposited on the carbon paper substrate. The electrochemical properties were measured in 0.4 M Na2SO4 electrolysis solution. It was shown that the size reduction induced by femtosecond laser ablation decreased the overpotential. We will also talk about the detailed properties and the band structure of CoO particles before and after femtosecond laser ablation.
