The instability of vascular plaque is thought to be related to the size and distribution of the internal lipid core. We have proposed a method to utilize the temperature dependence of the ultrasonic velocity to identify vascular instability plaque and carried out basic experiments In this study, we designed an optimum acoustic mirror from the conditions of reflection and transmission of ultrasonic waves in the metal plate, and fabricated an integrated probe. By applying this probe to detect the carotid artery phantom, we obtained ultrasonic velocity change images displaying lipid regions.
