[14p-E204-8] Study of microscopic radiation interaction of low energy electron in condensed phase ~Reproduction of scintillation and quenching in NE102 scintillators~

Keywords:scintillation, quenching, track structure simulation

Excitation and damage of fluorecent molecules in a scintillator material exposed to radiation were calculated by track structure calculation code. Assuming that scintillation is attributed to excitation of fluorecent molecules and damaged molecules quench the excited fluorescent molecules, light yield of scintillators by various radiation was calculated. The calculated light yield by protons and electrons agreed with the measurement data.
