本研究では，遺伝的アルゴリズムを用いて，人為的なパラメータ操作を行わない赤外メタマテリアルの自動設計を行ない，設計したメタマテリアルを作製・評価したことで，その有用性を検証した．その結果，自動設計された構造は目標となる周波数付近でメタマテリアルの共振に伴う透過率ディップが観測された．これにより，一見ランダムな構造がスペクトル応答に寄与していることがわかったので報告する．
