Since the latter half of the 1980s, NEDO has been promoting research and development and demonstration activities with the aim of putting superconductivity technologies to practical use. Based on a roadmap created from market research, NEDO launched the Project to Promote Commercialization of High-Temperature Superconductivity Technology, which is composed of seven themes in 2016. The background and details of this project will be introduced.
