Ba ferrite is one of the M-type hexaferrite, which has been used as permanent magnets. Both the saturation magnetization and the magneto crystalline anisotropy with the preferential direction parallel to c-axis of Ba ferrite are relatively large as an oxide. In this presentation, we report optimization of Ba ferrite thin film growth by using a sputtering technique and the magnetic properties especially focusing on magnetic anisotropy with a magneto-torque experiment.
