[14p-P10-53] Interlayer Exchange Coupling in Fe/MgO/γ-Fe2O3 Tri-layer System

Interlayer exchange coupling can be found in various magnetic multilayers. Antiferromagnetic interlayer coupling through an insulating MgO layer is also frequently observed. In this study, we report the large antiferromagnetic interlayer coupling through MgO layer as thin as the single molecular layer in Fe/MgO/γ-Fe2O3 tri-layer system which was grown by a reactive RF sputtering method. The result suggests that the ultrathin MgO layer suppresses a direct coupling between of Fe and γ-Fe2O3 layers.
