[14p-P2-1] Synthesis and optical property of Li2CN2

Li2CN2 is synthesized by direct reaction between Li3N (99.5% purity) and carbon with molar ratio of 2: 1 at 600 °C for 6 hours in an N2 atmosphere . The prepared sample is white and show deliquescence. The lattice constant is calculated as a = 3.72 Å and c = 8.42 Å. As a result of light absorption measurement and optical transmittance measurement, it is found that the material is a direct transition type material having a band gap of about 3.5 eV.
