Graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) are expected to be applied to logic devices because they exhibit band gaps unlike pristine graphene. Tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy is a technique to measure the Raman spectrum near the probe of the scanning probe microscope when the tip of the metal probe is illuminated by a laser beam, and it is possible to evaluate precise physical properties with high spatial resolution. In this presentation, we report the results of attempts to evaluate the structure and properties of individual GNRs using a scanning tunneling microscopy/tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy equipment.
